Skholē of Discourse

Skholē (pronounced school) of Discourse is a teaching and learning project that reimagines education as an active, communal practice. Rooted in the Greek concept of skholē (σχολή)—originally meaning leisure, the freedom to engage one’s mind—we gather to discuss and ask questions like: how can design serve the needs of all? How can technology allow for collective flourishing? What do ethics mean and how are they practiced or seen at this moment in time?

This isn’t a lecture hall where knowledge is deposited into passive recipients. Instead, it’s an experiential space where learning happens through conversation, questioning, and collective exploration. Each session centers on a theme, bringing together diverse perspectives and materials that spark genuine discourse. By engaging directly with ideas and with each other, participants strengthen their capacity for thoughtful dialogue and discover new ways of understanding the world.

Skholē of Discourse honors the ancient belief that the highest use of free time is continued learning—not as solitary study, but as a shared practice of engaging with each other.

Skholē of Discourse is launching in 2026.
