ABOUT ASHLIN
In a childhood of manicured lawns and plastic toys, innocence lost and lied about. In a world where we deny truth to protect from pain. In schools where girls shrink themselves to fit the mold. In a workforce where creativity is crucified for profit, where they teach me to design for sales rather than change.
Underneath these illusions, beyond the perfect surfaces and polite smiles, I started to find something more real: the raw truth of materials, the wisdom held in hands that make, the quiet knowledge carried in bodies and earth. This is my creative practice – a search for authenticity in a world of artifice. Longing for a connection to something bigger and more meaningful – something my body remembers while the world seems content to forget.
Ashlin is an artist and designer exploring the intersections of materiality, storytelling, and the human experience. With a Master’s in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins and a BA in Studio Art & Film from Vanderbilt, her work spans exhibitions from London to Santa Fe. Training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Ashlin blends art, performance, and body-focused inquiry to reimagine our connection to the world.
